Description

The seller is a classic car dealer based in North Carolina with over 30 years of experience selling, brokering, and restoring more than 250 Jaguar E-types. He is offering this exceptionally low-mileage 1970 Jaguar E-Type two-seat Fixed-Head Coupe as a well-preserved original vehicle that has had only three owners prior to the dealer’s possession since March 2025. The powertrain is claimed to be entirely original, and the Light Blue paint is mostly original, showing minor blemishes on the hood and roof, along with some small chips elsewhere.

The car’s history reveals the first owner from Allentown, Pennsylvania, kept the car just over a year before his wife grew tired of the manual transmission. The second owner, also from the Allentown area, held the car from July 1971 until his passing in 2024. A client of the dealer purchased the car from the deceased’s estate and brought it for minor refurbishment to make it suitable for driving. The dealer then acquired the car in March of this year for resale. Since then, the dual carburetors were serviced, the windshield, door cards (with originals included in the sale), and rear hatch chrome trim and seal were replaced. The engine bay was dry-ice cleaned to maintain a “clean-original” appearance, with no restoration or repainting underneath the hood. The seller has added approximately 100 miles since purchase.

This E-Type is factory-equipped with power steering and a rare air conditioning system, which remains complete but currently does not function.

The car’s "matching numbers" status is verified by the data plate and Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. Compression test photos show 150-155 psi across all six cylinders, and the seller confirms the engine holds proper oil pressure and coolant temperature even in North Carolina’s hottest weather. Multiple videos demonstrate the vehicle’s condition, illustrating that while it shows some natural patina and wear, it does not require restoration. The seller describes it as an excellent driver in superb running condition, designed to be driven regularly.

The 1970 E-Type Series 2 was in its second production year, featuring numerous updates to comply with the 1968 U.S. safety and emissions standards. While the two-seat Fixed-Head Coupe was less common at launch—with 4,855 units built compared to just over 5,300 2+2 models—it is now regarded by collectors as the more desirable variant.
